Course Description

This is a 2-day course which demonstrates the IT professionals to integrate their on-premises AD DS environment with Azure AD and usage of Azure AD as a directory service. It also makes the students learn to use Azure RMS to protect sensitive data and documents. It is focussed on how to enhance authentication with multi-factor authentication and ways to monitor directory synchronization health.

This single 2-day course is suitable for the IT professional and learners who have some knowledge and experience with Azure and are also having some advanced experience with the Windows Server operating system. candidates taking this course would want to develop knowledge for integration of identity services between cloud services and on-premises services which would typically include:

  • AD DS administrators who are looking forward to getting trained in cloud identity and access technologies.
  • Infrastructure or system administrators with AD DS experience and knowledge who are looking for more advanced identity training for Azure services.

Module 1: Introduction to Azure AD: This module helps to understand the differences between Azure AD and AD DS, and various versions of Azure AD. Next, it explains how to perform Azure AD tenant provisioning and managing objects and user roles in Azure AD.

Module 2: Integration of an on-premises Active Directory with Azure: This module will explain how to extend an on-premises Active Directory domain to Azure, and how directory synchronization works. Next, it gives the explanation for implementation and configuration of directory synchronization and how to manage synchronized directories.

Module 3: Usage of Azure AD as a directory service in hybrid environments: This module makes you understand how to use Azure AD as a directory service for on-premises resources, and how to configure SSO in Azure AD and describes how to implement Azure AD Privileged Identity Management (PIM).

Module 4: Configuration and protection of authentication in hybrid environments: This module show working of authentication in hybrid environments and describes how to implement Azure Multi-Factor Authentication.

Module 5: Deployment of Azure Information Protection with on-premises services: This module gives an overview of rights management, and elaborate the differences between Active Directory Rights Management Services (AD RMS) and Azure RMS. It also gives explanation on  how to implement Azure Information Protection and Azure RMS and integrate of these services with on-premises services.

Module 6: Azure AD Monitoring: This module gives a description of how to use Azure AD reporting and configuration of Azure AD notifications. Next, it also gives description of how to monitor AD DS and Azure AD by using Azure AD Connect Health and Microsoft Operations Management Suite (OMS).

  • Basic knowledge and experience with cloud services such as Microsoft Office 365.
  • Basic knowledge and experience with the Azure platform.
