ISO 37301 is the international standard for compliance management systems. Unlike its predecessor ISO 19600, which offered only guidelines, ISO 37301 sets certifiable requirements, meaning an organization can be independently audited and certified against it. It covers how an organization identifies its compliance obligations, manages compliance risk, and builds a culture of integrity.

I hold a certificate based on ISO 19600. Is this course still relevant?

Yes, more than ever. ISO 37301 replaced ISO 19600, and the shift from guidance to certifiable requirements changes what implementers need to know. This course teaches the current standard, and prior ISO 19600 knowledge satisfies the prerequisite.

Is the exam fee included?

Yes. Both the exam and certification fees are covered by the course price, and PECB allows one free retake within 12 months if needed.

What if I don't have five years of experience yet?

You can still take the course, pass the exam, and apply for the Provisional Implementer or Implementer credential. As your experience grows, you can upgrade to Lead Implementer without retaking the exam.

How is Lead Implementer different from Lead Auditor?

Lead Implementer trains you to build and run a CMS inside an organization. Lead Auditor trains you to audit one against ISO 37301 on behalf of a certification body or an internal audit function. If your job is making compliance work day to day, this is the course. If your job is assessing it, look at ISO 37301 Lead Auditor.

Course Overview

ISO 37301 gives organizations a different footing: a certifiable compliance management system (CMS) that prevents noncompliance instead of cleaning up after it.

This PECB Lead Implementer course trains you to build that system. Across four days, you will work through the full implementation lifecycle: interpreting the requirements of ISO 37301 from an implementer's perspective, planning the CMS, putting it into operation, monitoring its performance, driving continual improvement, and preparing the organization for a third-party certification audit. Along the way you will learn how a well-built CMS supports good governance, due diligence, and a culture where integrity and transparency are the norm rather than the poster on the wall.

Day five is the PECB certification exam. Pass it, and you can apply for the internationally recognized PECB Certified ISO 37301 Lead Implementer credential, formal proof that you can implement a CMS based on ISO 37301.
